Cheryl Coleman, MSW
President & CEO

Cheryl Coleman has nearly 40 years of clinical and managerial experience in health and human services. A graduate of Wayne State University with a Masters degree in Social Work, Ms. Coleman has served as president and CEO of Northeast Guidance Center (NEGC) for over 20 years. Prior to assuming her role as president, she served as the director of programs at NEGC and was responsible for the overall management of all clinical programs and program development. Before she began her employment with NEGC, she worked as the Director of Family Preservation programs at United Community Services, the planning arm of the United Way of Southeastern Michigan (UWSEM). Cheryl currently serves as the Chairperson of Carelink, a Managed Care Provider Network (MCPN) which oversees the care of over 20,000 seriously emotionally disturbed children and chronically mentally ill adults. She is also is the vice-president of Behavioral Health Professionals Incorporated (BHPI) Board of Directors.
Sherry Ellen McRill, MA, LLP
Vice President & Deputy Director

Sherry McRill is a Michigan Limited Licensed Psychologist with over 38 years of behavioral health administrative experience in the public and private sectors. She is responsible for the overall supervision of clinical operations at Northeast Guidance Center (NEGC) including its integrated health care program. She is responsible for all licensure, certification, and compliance standard implementation, new program development and annual staff development programs. Ms. McRill is a mother of three adults who is also involved with volunteering with community partner organizations. She is the immediate past president of the Junior League of Detroit and the Family Center of Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods. She is currently the president of the Michigan State Council of Junior Leagues.
Tracy Gates Body
Human Resources & Facilities Management

Tracy Gates Body has 23 years of nonprofit work experience. A mother of two, Ms. Gates Body has served as the Director of Administration at Northeast Guidance Center since 1991. She has provided leadership during many of the agency’s key moments such as the construction of NEGC’s Conner Campus, and all facility renovations since 1991. Currently, Ms.Gates Body is responsible for human resources and facilities administration including properties and risk management. Tracy is an avid reader and she is also a tea enthusiast.
Philip D. Whitfield
Chief Financial Officer / IT Manager

Philip D. Whitfield joined Northeast Guidance Center (NEGC) in November 2011. A graduate of Edinboro University, Mr. Whitfield brings a wealth of experience to NEGC with over 20 years of Financial Management experience with nonprofit and government agencies. Philip currently provides oversight of the agency’s Finance and Information Technology divisions. He is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. In his spare time, he enjoys consulting with grass root and minority business owners in Metropolitan Detroit.
